Whilst we are forming there may be an issue with the development of our body parts, it could be caused by genetic issues, a disease, or trauma sustained whilst in the womb.
Once we are born our parents care for us until we are old enough to look after ourselves. Things can happen along the way, accidents, contract diseases and all sorts of things that we can not protect or predict. As we age we can develop ailments which slow us down, and therefore because we have slowed down things begin to become apparent that they are not what they used to be and may be we should reconsider our approach to a lot of things. As a part of aging we expect and anticipate that things will not be like they use to be, aching bones, tiredness, unable to move or get around as much as we used to and so on, however we need to take into consideration the affects it can have on your life and others around. We can develop aging symptoms but we can also develop conditions which typically start by the slightest of thing. A condition which is known to affect approximately twenty percent of men over the age of sixty years old and in women at least twenty percent as well with an average age of over eighty years old is called Dupuytrens Contracture.
This condition affects the fingers and hands of a sufferer. It is common for more than one finger to bend towards the palm of the hand. This often means that the sufferer is unable to straighten their fingers as much as they used to, they may suffer from hardening of the skin, what may be described as dimples or even pits in the skin and of course they may suffer from a degree of pain such as tenderness to the affected area. This condition can occur at any pint however there are debates as to whether or not it is hereditary, although some recent tests have confirmed that people with a family history of this disorder often develop the condition as well. Even though this is a potentially painful and hindering condition an insurance company would generally not offer cover for this sort of ailment, nor would an insurance company that offered critical illness insurance.
